NAC Strengthens Cooperation with Pakistani Partners

On 30 July, analysts from the National Analytical Center, Rassul Kospanov and Roza Tleukhan, met with Dr Farhat Asif, President of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies in Islamabad, Pakistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Kazakhstan–Pakistan relations and prospects for their further development. Particular attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation, transport connectivity between Central and South Asia, and regional security. The role of expert diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations was also discussed. The participants noted that regular dialogue between think tanks can contribute to the development of new initiatives and promote greater mutual understanding between Astana and Islamabad.

The parties also considered promising areas of cooperation between the National Analytical Center and Pakistan’s expert community. Potential formats included joint research projects, expert discussions, and the exchange of analytical materials.

The meeting concluded with both sides confirming their mutual interest in continuing the dialogue and expanding cooperation between analytical institutions in Kazakhstan and Pakistan.

Background: Dr Farhat Asif is a Pakistani expert in international relations and security, and the Founder and President of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies in Islamabad. She also heads the Diplomatic Insight Group. The Institute conducts research and analytical work on Central Asia, China, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and the Belt and Road Initiative.
